Pioneer Center East

Pioneer Center East is a 53-bed residential treatment facility operated by Pioneer Human Services in Spokane, Washington. The program provides semi-secure, intensive inpatient care for adult men experiencing chronic substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Treatment is provided at ASAM Levels 3.3 and 3.5.

Services include substance use disorder and mental health treatment, psychiatric assessments, medication management, medication-assisted treatment, peer support, and individualized recovery planning. Participants may also receive education in basic living skills, nutrition, health, recreation, and developing a recovery-focused lifestyle.

The program offers relapse-prevention groups, anger-management classes, coping-skills development, self-esteem groups, trauma-survivor support, employment and housing assistance, and discharge planning. Staff are available around the clock to support participants during treatment and help coordinate their transition to continued care and community services.

Applicants must have a current substance use disorder assessment and meet the criteria for residential treatment. Managed-care referrals require prior authorization, while criminal justice agencies, Native American programs, and drug courts may refer clients directly. Length of stay varies according to individual needs, with the facility reporting a typical stay of approximately 28 to 59 days.
